Study: Online Dating warms -
Remember to make the leap and join the dating game online? You're not alone! A new study published by Pew Research Center reports that 11% - or 1 in 10 - of American adults have turned to the Internet for love. In addition, 38% of US single adults are actively looking for love online - in quite a number compared to previous years when meeting a significant other on the Internet could have been perceived as dangerous or summary. And the general attitude towards online dating are becoming warmer, with 59% of Internet users agreed with the statement that online dating is a good way to meet people - against 44% in 2005. aunt Martha could still not approve, but your friends are probably going to be less likely to laugh at stories of how you met your beautiful again.
Another interesting finding in the study is that not only are Americans increasingly looking for online partners, but people are more likely to actually go on a date with someone that they meet online. About 66% of online daters could go on at least one date with someone they met on a website or a mobile application. So if you are tired of looking for that perfect sushi-loving football obsessed partner to connect with in all the usual places and have not tried online dating sites, now is a good time to start!
