A recent study published by Kaspersky Lab has shown that children using its control software parental tried to disable the controls to access social media websites twice they tried to access pornographic websites in May 2013. This study included information compiled from users in the United States, United Kingdom , Germany, Brazil and Japan. The results showed that children have attempted to access multiple types of websites, including:

• 31.26 percent attempted to access social networks
• 16.83 percent attempted to access pornographic and erotic sites
• 16.65 percent attempted to access online stores
• 8.09 percent tried to access in chats and forums
• 7.39 percent attempted to access webmail
• 3.77 percent attempted to access resources containing illegal software
• 3.19 percent attempted to access casual games
• of 0.8 percent to 2 percent attempted to access other resources such as inappropriate Web sites about weapons or drugs, gambling sites, electronic payment systems, etc.
