Amazon today announced that it will add on a whole range of content belonging to Viacom their service Amazon Instant Video streaming. The addition of all this content comes on the heels of Netflix who abandon their Viacom contract at the end of May. The loss is particularly damaging to Netflix after a disappointing release of the new series Arrested Development that was supposed to help usher in a new era of exclusive content for the site. Amazon on the other hand came to an incredible new content. The multi-year agreement gives Amazon access to content networks such as Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Comedy Central and MTV.
With the new additions to their range, Amazon Instant Video is looking better than ever. With Amazon Prime, which includes Amazon Instant Video, which costs only $ 79 per year for unlimited streaming capabilities, Amazon rises rapidly to the top of the streaming market. In the coming months they will also be adding their own original content, which they expect to further Amazon Instant Video in the spotlight.
