So that this growth does not mean Netflix as they approach the new year? There are some rumors floating around.
Live Sports
One of the many avenues Netflix is rumored to be exploring is the live sports industry. Last week we talked about Netflix acquire new package Thursday Night Football NFL who is currently pitching to most major cable networks. A report that commissioner Roger Goodell NFL is exploring the idea of streaming services for games Thursday night, many have suggested that Google and Netflix are vying for the contract. It remains to see if Netflix can strike a deal if the implications could be huge one for Netflix and it's viewers.
Netflix Cable
Another route is the cable industry. In a recent report, it was said that Netflix has met with major cable companies like Comcast and Time Warner Cable in search of a new agreement that would bring Netflix to your cable subscription. The proposed idea will be used to attract new customers and retain old as the popularity of Netflix streaming continues to grow.
Netflix has also begun to reach out to European service providers hoping to extend their reach to an even wider audience. So far, Netflix has signed two agreements with European content providers that will allow European viewers to tune in for hours and hours of streaming content. Netflix will also be available via game consoles, Blu-ray players, smartphones and Web-TV devices such as Roku.
2014 will be a great year for Netflix because they will be expanding into many different areas of entertainment, we still do not know what plans will actually materialize and are rummors at this stage, but you can certainly expect to see some significant movement in the coming months.
