One of the phones that have brought 9 million Apple over $ in revenue over the weekend proved to be hacked by a German hacker organization. The Chaos Computer Club has been able to hack tactile security feature ID iPhone 5S 'lifting a fingerprint photographing printing on a glass surface and creating a fake finger to unlock the phone, as reported by Gizmodo.
Although hacking process was a bit tedious - of taking a 2400dpi resolution photo, inversion and Laser fingerprint on a transparent sheet with a toner setting thick with 1200 dpi and finally coat the milk pink or white latex wood glue into the fingerprint pattern - it proves that the safety device fingerprint may not be the best option in terms of security. Fingerprints are a part of our lives every day and a stamp that we leave on different places every day, so why do you choose to do your vulnerable fingerprint?
We'll admit that the safety device fingerprint seems like a futuristic, innovative feature, but it also puts your fingerprint and personal information at risk. For example, when you lose your license, you can get to the motor vehicle department and request a new one. When a thief steals your fingerprint, there is no way you can request a new one or to monitor activity - yes, it does sound a bit dramatic, but it is worth thinking about
.Since the German hacking group has proved that it is possible to fool the iPhone 5S thinking a fake fingerprint is true, hackers and other identity thieves will most likely continue to develop piracy fingerprint until it becomes a power line, simple task for thieves. The best option for iPhone 5S users, in terms of security of the phone, is to opt for traditional phone security options, such as digital or complicated passwords.
