Valentine's Day is today, and if you do not already made plans, chances are you are going to get a table at this chic restaurant that you've been "meaning" to make a reservation at. Well fear not my friend procrastinatory because there are still ways you can save this date apparently dedicated to you. There are chances that you have a TV or a computer, why not stay and have a romantic movie night with your special someone? Although the date stays at home may not have quite the "wow" factor to come out and do the customs of the traditional Valentine's Day, it can still be a great way to impress your date on a budget. To save you a little time to find the right film to watch, we decided to choose five of the best romantic movies on Netflix.
"The Artist"
This film has great potential based on your date. If you think your date will be able to sit through a silent film in black and white, we strongly suggest you to go for it. It is an amazing film that won five Oscars and is a real great movie from beginning to end. However, we understand that this film is not for everyone so we have a list of some other options below.
"Some Like It Hot"
This classic comedy follows the story of Joe and Jerry are accidentally witnesses the massacre of Valentine. Fleeing the city dressed as women, the two end up on a sensual young blonde who seems to things "heat" while on the road. This classic film starring the late Marilyn Monroe is a good option for dates who love nostalgia and classic films.
"Amelie"
This film tells a touching story of a young French woman who finds a secret long hidden under the floor of his apartment. Intriguing story revolves around it to find the owner of the mysterious secret under the floorboards. This film is a great way to impress your date by showing how "educated" you are. The French artistic film is very romantic, but for some subtitles can be a bit much.
"Breakfast at Tiffany"
Yet another classic film which follows the story of a young and reckless young girl who finds himself falling for a young writer, and as their romance unfolds, many secrets about his past be exposed to lead to an emotional end. This film has the style and fashion of the 60s in all its opulent splendor, featuring the young and beautiful Audrey Hepburn. This film is ideal for Hepburn fans, and lovers of classic films.
"Say Anything"
Another classic film starring a young John Cusack (Lloyd) and his novel in development with his high school crush Diane. After Diana's father condemns the relationship, Lloyd fights to keep. The film features the infamous scene with Cusack standing outside the home of Diana with her BoomBox playing "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel. This film is not for everyone, but those who do like it, love it.
